Yo!

Okay. So this is jordan here. trying out this blog, which, i will say i am right at home because I am an embarrassingly devoted blogoholic. Is it that there is an ingredient of conceit in my being that I really think that people want to hear what goes on day to day in my world? Hmm. Maybe. but i don't think so. I honestly blog with the assumption that nobody will read them and then i'm pleasantly surprised to see people have commented on them. lol. This week has been a hard one. I've found myself asking the question "How do I pray"?

When there is a situation that you are afraid to take to the throne because you are terrified that God will answer it in a way that you don't like. For instance, if a family member is in a car accident and care-flighted, and you are afraid that if you pray for God to heal them, that He'll take them home to be with Him rather than "heal" them the way we are thinking when we pray it. I'm going through that sort of thing this week. I find myself asking, "how do i pray?" Ultimately of course, these ponderings have been put into a song, and as I wrote the song, God answered my question for me. Check out the chorus that i found myself writing:

Not my will but Yours be done, on earth as it is in HeavenI know that this means I might not get my own way, but that's okay 'cause you're God and I am not, and Your ways are not my ownYour will be done and Yours alone

My challenge to you guys tonight is to pray without fear. Hebrews tells us to come to the throne of grace with confidence. He knows are needs before we even call His name! When our hearts are truly and unwaveringly devoted and desiring for His will to be done, that is where we find the strength to endure whatever He chooses to answer, because we will be pleased that our Father was pleased in using our lives for His greater plan- even in pain. "Love for God is pure when joy and suffering inspire an equal degree of gratitude." God is God and we are not. We only see a part of the picture He's painting. We'll never understand it all. But if we understood everything, from where would faith derive? Where would the amazement be at His goodness? Pray without fear, pray His will be done.
"Blessed be your name! You give and take away, you give and take away, but my heart will choose to say, Blessed be your name!"
